Active Communities Strategy

In June 2024, Stratford-on-Avon District Council's Cabinet endorsed an updated Active Communities Strategy (ACS) for the next three years.

The ACS runs from 2024 to 2027 and links with the Council Plan objectives ‘to improve the health and wellbeing of our local communities.' The ACS is managed by our leisure provider, Everyone Active.

The strategy seeks to facilitate and provide activities for local communities with the goal of improving health and wellbeing. The strategy will advocate exercise opportunities by working with key partners to raise the profile of the current leisure offer and go out to more rural, hard to reach communities as well as offering Holiday Activities for children.

The strategy has three main themes:

• Strategic Theme 1 – Encourage communities to be healthy and active through sustainable programmes
• Strategic Theme 2 – Enhance and sustain existing facilities and provision
• Strategic Theme 3 – Elevate the importance of being physically active throughout our communities
