On 10th April 2025, Stratford-on-Avon District Council Licensing Team partnered with Warwickshire Police and the DVSA to undertake vehicle checks on District Council licensed vehicles.

The aim of the operation was to ensure that all licensed vehicles were complying with safety regulations, and to maintain public safety.

11 vehicles were checked within the period, with one brake light failure and 3 vehicles not carrying the required documents.

The inspections are essential for protecting public safety and maintaining the high standard that is expected of drivers and their licensed vehicles. They help to ensure drivers comply with vehicle standards, insurance requirements and driver conditions.

Julie Lewis, Head of Environmental and Neighbourhood Services at Stratford-on-Avon District Council, said: "It's crucial for us to work together with partner agencies to ensure licensed vehicles are safe for members of the public."
