Press Release

Stratford-on-Avon District Council are leading on a project with the NHS Coventry and Warwickshire Integrated Care Board and the Warwickshire Police and Crime Commissioner to deliver new Community facilities in Upper Lighthorne.
The project - planned to complete in 2027 - will create a new community centre, healthcare facility and neighbourhood police office to serve Upper Lighthorne's emerging village centre.
Freehaus has been appointed as the architects, and work is underway on initial design of the new facilities, and they are tasked with designing a facility that aligns with the wider principles and vision for the area and creates a vibrant and viable civic focus for community life.
The District Council is already working with the community to define what they need, taking into consideration adjoining villages and the wider area, what is currently in place and new facilities that are proposed elsewhere on the new settlement, so that this hub offers something unique to the community that will enhance, rather than duplicate, existing provisions.
Cllr George Cowcher, Deputy Leader of Stratford-on-Avon District Council, said: "This is a vital piece of infrastructure that will sit at the heart of the community at Lighthorne Heath. It will provide facilities vital for local people and we look forward to seeing the new design and having it implemented as soon as possible."
Residents are encouraged to contribute their views on what community facilities they would like to see within the new building by completing the consultation here: https://bit.ly/40Vx0jb
A drop-in community engagement event will take place on Wednesday 11 December (12noon to 6pm) at Lighthorne Heath Village Hall.
Come along to ask about the community hub and the consultation.
