On Monday 13 January, Stratford-on-Avon District Council's Cabinet adopted the Moreton Morrell Parish Plan.

The plan will now be taken into account in deciding planning applications in the parish and act as a blueprint for the future of the parish defined by the community itself.

Moreton Morrell's original Parish Plan was adopted in 2007, and in 2020 Moreton Morrell set out to create a new Parish Plan.

Parish Plans provide communities with a framework for the present and plan for the future.

Cllr George Cowcher, Planning and Economic Development Portfolio says: "The Moreton Morrell Parish Plan is an exemplar Parish Plan, which puts the priorities of the residents first and is in keeping with the Core Strategy and other planning policy documents.

"It has been extremely well prepared and is a useful tool for residents and developers in the area, as it concisely brings together information relevant to Moreton Morrell from other primary documents.

"The action plan suitably addresses the concerns raised throughout the Parish Plan and is consistent and in general conformity with the policy framework established by the Core Strategy and the National Planning Policy Framework.

"This Parish Plan is a great source of information and is a great credit to all those that have prepared the plan."
