Landlords and managing agents operating in South Warwickshire are being encouraged to take part in the next industry forum on Tuesday 22 October 2024 at Stratford-upon-Avon Racecourse.
The Landlord Forum is being led by the private sector housing teams from both Warwick and Stratford-on-Avon District Councils in partnership with the local Landlord Steering Group.
Exhibitions from local specialist companies will cover aspects of property management, and a number of helpful bite-size talks will be held covering a range of topics, including advice on the law and practice surrounding damp and mould, self-managing landlord tips, and recent policy and legislation changes.
Back by popular demand is a 'Tenancy Agreement Clinic', where landlords can bring questions for a specialist solicitor to answer. Delegates can network with other professionals, and a range of experts will be on hand to answer questions on subjects like letting property, solar panels and landlord insurance.
The Council's partnership agency Act on Energy will also be on hand to give advice on current energy efficiency grants and schemes suitable for rented properties.
Councillor Helen Adkins, Portfolio Holder for Housing at Warwick District Council said: "This event is part of our ongoing programme of work to establish an effective partnership between the district councils and local landlords, letting agents and others involved in letting property in the private rented sector.
"This event facilitates and encourages best practice and contributes towards promoting and improving the image and reputation of the private rented sector in South Warwickshire. We know from feedback on previous events that attendees find it beneficial, be it for finding out about the latest sector information, gaining advice and insights, sharing good practices, or for forging new partnerships. Therefore, I encourage anyone working in the private rented sector to sign up and attend this valuable event."
Councillor Liz Coles, Housing and Customer Services Portfolio Holder at Stratford-on-Avon District Council said: "We know that private landlords play a fundamental role in the local housing sector and this event is a great opportunity for landlords to learn more and see the support and help available to them as well as meeting representatives from their local Private Sector Housing Teams."
