West Midlands Empty Homes Week - 2 to 6 July 2018  

Stratford-on-Avon District Council and other members of the West Midlands Empty Property Officer Group (WMEPOG) have launched the first West Midlands Empty Homes Week, which runs from 2 to 6 July.  

Stratford-on-Avon District Council's Project Officer for Empty Homes, Sheree Johansen, chairs the WMEPOG, which is the platform for local authorities within the West Midlands to raise awareness and promote the benefits of bringing empty properties back into use.  

Every year, during National Empty Homes week, local authorities, housing providers and others organise events and promotions to highlight the work they do to tackle empty homes - but WMEPOG members have decided that they would like to have their own dedicated Empty Homes week for the West Midlands.

Authorities across the region will be acknowledging the week by holding drop-in surgeries, offering advice and information and celebrating their successes - there's also a leaflet that's been produced on behalf of the group.  

Stratford-on-Avon District Council will have a display all week in the reception area at Elizabeth House, and the Empty Property Officer will be available to answer any questions as well as posting information on social media - look out for the hashtag #WMEmptyHomes.
