On Monday 2 July, Stratford-on-Avon District Council's Cabinet received a report on the Corporate Strategy and performance - where 88% of the actions have been achieved or are on target and 93% of people are satisfied with their area as a place to live.  

Cllr Mark Cargill, Deputy Leader says: "This very positive end of year monitoring report for year 3 demonstrates that the District Council is delivering on our Corporate Strategy focusing on what really matters to residents, businesses and partners; to make the District a great place to live and work.  Our surveys show in the last 12 months that there is high satisfaction with the way the District Council operates and believe that we provide value for money.  Significant strides have been made in the delivery of our Corporate Strategy for our community and we are now looking to develop our new Corporate Strategy starting in 2019."  

Key highlights include:
Working with partners to support the local economy including Coventry and Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership (CWLEP) and the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA).
A successful bid to Government to secure £13.4m Housing Infrastructure Marginal Funding to support the development of the Garden Village in Long Marston.
Implementation of the new Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL).
Funding for two rural crime co-ordinator posts ensuring people in rural areas feel safe and secure.
Funding secured to upgrade CCTV across the District.
Continuing to minimise the amount of waste going to landfill and being one of the top 10 best performing Councils in the UK for recycling.
Progressing infrastructure solutions for the Gateway Project in Stratford-upon-Avon and the Studley Co-op site.
Expanding a programme of sharing services with other Councils.
Introducing more Customer Access Terminals across the District, improving access to local services in remote communities.  

Key Performance Indicators
Above national planning targets for determining planning applications.
50 empty properties brought back into use - target 25.
77% of residents satisfied with the way SDC runs things.
89% of residents think SDC provides value for money.              


Background Information


There are three Corporate Strategy objectives and 18 long-term priorities which set out the focus of the Corporate Strategy 2015-2019.  

Key Objective1:        A flourishing local economy
Key Objective 2:       People and their environment
Key Objective 3:       Responsible community leadership

There are 32 Year 3 tasks in the 2017/18 action plan that monitor the delivery of the Corporate Strategy.  

There are 31 Key Indicators set to monitor performance. 23 of these relate to the Corporate Strategy objectives and eight are Corporate Health Indicators.
