You are invited to the Award Winning Stratford-upon-Avon Victorian Christmas Market, 2018

Stratford-on-Avon District Council and Stratford-upon-Avon Town Council, in conjunction with LSD Promotions Marketplace Limited, are delighted once again to invite residents and visitors to this year's award-winning Victorian Christmas Market on:

• Friday 7 December             11am until 8pm
• Saturday 8 December        10am until 8pm
• Sunday 9 December           10am until 5pm

The town's streets will be filled with 300 stalls selling an array of goods including local arts and crafts, international products, festive gifts and tempting international street food. There will be plenty of festive spirit including local gins, mulled wine, ales and other Christmas cheer.

Traders dressed in Victorian attire will be showcasing and selling their wares to eager customers looking for unusual and unique Christmas gifts.  There will be something for everyone to suit all budgets and tastes.

Festive entertainment and cheer will get even the biggest of humbugs into the Christmas spirit with an eclectic programme provided by professional and local amateur entertainers, dance troupes, bands, musicians, singers, choirs and Victorian street entertainers.

Come and meet the talking reindeer, who are making their first appearance this year!

Bring the children to the entertainment zone specially created for them, where they will find magicians, puppeteers and a letter-writing workshop to Father Christmas.

A vintage fun fair with carousel, helter-skelter, traditional rides and stalls all add to the fun and merriment.

Official Opening

On Friday 7 December at 6.30pm, a lantern parade of dignitaries and guests led by choristers from the Holy Trinity Church will proceed from the Town Hall through the town to the entertainment stage in Henley Street.

Councillor Maurice Howse, Business, Tourism and ICT Portfolio, says: "We are delighted to be working with the Town Council and LSD Promotions, our market contractor, to bring this second, award-winning Victorian Christmas Market festival to Stratford-upon-Avon. Last year saw a phenomenal increase in footfall, bringing new vibrancy to the town and local economy, which we hope to see repeated this year. We would encourage both residents and visitors to come and experience this truly magical event. We want Stratford-upon-Avon to be the must-go-to Christmas destination for everyone."

The Mayor of Stratford-upon-Avon, Cllr John Bicknell, says: "Last year's festival was such a phenomenal success, but we are confident that we will equal or even surpass the high expectations that have been set. Hopefully we will not experience such adverse weather conditions as last year, as we have three packed days of festive fun and entertainment planned, which will appeal to the whole family, coupled with fine fare and plenty of opportunities for Christmas shopping. We very much look forward to welcoming you to the event."

A complimentary shuttle bus service provided by Johnsons Coach & Bus Travel will operate every half hour from the Park & Ride at Bishopton between 9am and 7pm on Sunday 9 December, with pick-up and drop-off points on Rother Street.

The Park & Ride service will be operating as normal on Friday 7 December and Saturday 8 December. 

The Christmas lights will be sparkling and a warm welcome awaits at Stratford-upon-Victorian Christmas Market.
