On Wednesday 15 May, Stratford-on-Avon District Council will be holding its 50th Annual Council Meeting and is looking to invite as many past Councillors as possible that have served on the District Council.
Former Councillors are being invited to commemorate the 50th anniversary following the Annual Meeting which starts at 11am.
David Buckland, Chief Executive of Stratford-on-Avon District Council said: "We share this milestone with many other councils established after the Local Government Act of 1972 came into force in April 1974. I am delighted the District Council has been proudly serving residents in the District for 50 years. It is a real milestone in the history of the District and for the Council.
"As we celebrate our District Council's remarkable journey of its 50th anniversary, we would like to invite as many of our past Councillors to join us in commemorating this milestone. During this time 330 Councillors have served on the District Council, sadly not all are still with us, but some may have moved or changed addresses, so we would like to extend this invitation for them to come and join us at our Annual Meeting next week."
For any former Councillors who haven't received an official invitation, please confirm your attendance with dates of your term of office by emailing tina.brain@stratford-dc.gov.uk or by calling 01789 260802.
