Stratford Leisure Centre, which is operated by Everyone Active in partnership with Stratford-on-Avon District Council, is celebrating after being named as an 'excellent' facility by an external assessor.
The centre was awarded the status of 'excellent' by Quest, the UK's Quality Scheme for sports and leisure, after undergoing a rigorous inspection and interview process.
On Tuesday (20th February) Stratford Leisure Centre, was recognised by Quest as being the third highest performance facility managed centre out of more than 400 centres across the country in the Quest Plus category, at the annual Quest conference and awards ceremony.
The award is assessed on core modules including, community outcomes, customer experience and insight, team and skills development, cleaning and housekeeping, maintenance and equipment, environment, planning to improve and health and safety. S
tratford Leisure Centre offers a wide-range of activities that encourage everyone in the local community to improve their health and wellbeing. The Quest report highlighted that the centre delivers an 'excellent' service that engages with children, women and older people across the district.
These activities include women only swim sessions, Get Active sessions for over 60's that offer badminton and table tennis, as well as free swimming for children on Everyone Active's swim scheme and Stratford's only climbing facility.
The centre boasts a 140-station fitness suite, which houses the latest cardio-vascular and strength training equipment, and a 33m, eight lane swimming pool which offers a number of aquatic activities including Swim England accredited swimming lessons.

We are committed to offering high-quality facilities and an extensive range of activities that encourage everyone, regardless of their age or ability, to lead healthier, more active lifestyles.
"This award recognises the services we provide at the centre, but also the work we do alongside our partners in the community to improve the health and wellbeing of Stratford's residents. Cllr Mike Brain, Community and Technical Services Portfolio from Stratford-on-Avon District Council said, "We are very proud that our Stratford Leisure Centre has been held in such high regard by this external assessor, the report's findings justify our recent investment in the major refurbishment of this Centre. We have a long term relationship with the operators Everyone Active and my team work closely with them to ensure that the high standards that our customers expect are maintained."
