A Community Safety Partnership Plan has been created for South Warwickshire which details the approach taken to reducing crime and disorder across the District until 2025.

Under the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 each District is required to have a Community Safety Partnership (CSP) which consists of the District Council, Police, Fire, Health, Probation and the County Council.

In 2008, the Stratford District CSP was merged with the Warwick District CSP to form a South Warwickshire Community Safety Partnership - 'Safer South Warwickshire'. A requirement of the legislation is that the partnership creates and publishes a Partnership Plan which details the approach by the CSP to reducing crime and disorder in an area and explains how the CSP discharges its other legal responsibilities.

The CSP's vision for South Warwickshire is that it should be a safe place to live, work and visit with a sense of security which reflects the low risk of becoming a victim of crime in the area.

The revised Partnership Plan explains the governance structure of the CSP, its aims, priorities and approach to reducing crime and disorder within the District.

This Plan will also help deliver the District Council's new Council Plan 2023-27 objectives which includes the aim to 'To reduce crime and anti-social behaviour through the Community Safety Partnership'.

The Community Safety Partnership Plan runs to 2025 when a new plan will be formed by the CSP.

Councillor Natalie Gist, Law and Governance Portfolio Holder at the District Council and chair of the South Warwickshire CSP said: "This administration is committed to reducing crime and disorder within Stratford District.  By working with our partners through the South Warwickshire Community Safety Partnership we aim to harness all of the multi-agency skills and knowledge available to reduce crime and also to support and empower communities to reduce the fear of crime. In addition our dedicated Community Safety Team at Stratford-on-Avon District Council are available for all residents throughout the District and residents should feel free to contact them for advice and support at any time."
