A new initiative is bringing a splash of colour to the heart of Stratford-upon-Avon.

Supported and funded by Stratford-on-Avon District Council, Warwickshire County Council, Stratford Town Trust and local community partners, Paint Stratford is committed to enhancing the town's public spaces through art.

Paint Stratford is creating a vibrant public art trail featuring world-class street artists, with the aim of transforming the town with stunning murals. Led by local artist and producer Ali Glover and creative producer Kate Cox, the festival is already making a significant impact.

In addition to the main mural trail, the project has a strong community focus. Workshops, involving local residents of all ages, have been held at the Fred Winter Centre to explore the world of street art and create collaborative pieces. Paint Stratford has also successfully completed a graffiti project in Meon Vale, engaging young people in the creative process.

Murals have been created on various places around Stratford town, including on Arden Street by renowned artist Michael Batchelor. This follows the success of the mural painted on Arden Street for the Queen's Jubilee, which was much-loved by the community. As well as working with Bishopton Community Centre to create a mural designed by Bishopton Children, which was unveiled in the new community garden in September.

Paint Stratford is excited to announce a new mural at the Visitor Information Centre, by artist Bex Glover, which was painted in October!

Cllr Liz Coles, Portfolio Holder for Housing and Customer Services, said: "I am very excited about the project and look forward to seeing the artwork specially created for our Visitors Information Centre. The other murals around the town are popular with residents and this will really enhance the Centre as part of its refurbishment. I want to express my gratitude for the hard work of all those involved."

Additional murals will be created throughout the year with several more exciting projects still to be announced. Paint Stratford is seeking volunteers, wall owners, and partners to help the festival continue to grow.

Ali Glover and Kate Cox would like to express their gratitude to all those who have supported Paint Stratford so far.
