Council gives go-ahead to Global Gathering event

Stratford-on-Avon District Council's General Purposes Licensing Committee, gave the go ahead yesterday, 30th March 2005, for 40,000 people to attend a two day Global Gathering dance event on 29th & 30th July 2005 at Long Marston Airfield.

This is the first time that the event has been held over two days which necessitated the provision of a campsite. The organisers, Godskitchen, are hopeful that a two-day event will ease traffic congestion as people stagger their attendance over the two-day period.

Additionally, significant work has also been under taken on sound levels for the event, in an attempt to reduce the potential for noise spillage to neighbouring villages.
