Residents and local visitors to Alcester have the opportunity over this Easter period to have their say on two major developments aimed at enhancing the town's centre.
The first is the plan to improve pedestrian use of the town's centre, which includes proposals to create up to four sensitively designed crossing points. The second is to use creative means of improving the look and safety of the three historic alleyways, locally known as 'tueries,' which connect the High Street to the car parks.
Residents are invited to inspect and comment on proposed designs for the projects-both initiated by the town's regeneration partnership, Advantage Alcester and developed in partnership with Alcester Town, Stratford District and Warwickshire County Councils-which are currently on display in Globe House (opposite roundabout on Priory Road).
Comments on both can be made on feedback forms available there and will be used to inform the final outcome. The closing date for those about the pedestrian crossing areas is next Thursday (March 31st) and for those about the Tueries scheme is 12th April.
Advantage West Midlands Market Town Initiative funding has already been earmarked by Advantage Alcester to make major contributions towards these improvements as part of the fourth and final year of Alcester's Market Town funding programme
