The high standard of public garden landscaping in south Warwickshire has been praised with a national award. Stratford-on-Avon District Council and its contractor Cleanaway Landscapes have won a BALI National Landscape Award which recognises exceptionally high standards of professionalism in landscaping.
The annual BALI awards - the British Association of Landscape Industries - are held to celebrate the industry's commitment to maintaining and improving standards within the landscape sector.
"I am very pleased with this award which demonstrates our high standards," said Cllr Alan Akeister, Portfolio Holder for Environment.
"This year's awards received a record entry of 119, with Stratford District Council short-listed into the top three. This reflects the wealth and breadth of our grounds maintenance contractor Cleanaway Landscapes."
Cleanaway Landscapes, based in Bidford-on-Avon, operate a contract for the District Council to maintain the District's parks, gardens, open spaces and verges.
