A public inquiry starts next week, Tuesday 17 January, into proposals to redevelop an old brickworks site at Napton in Warwickshire, into holiday homes. Brockhall Village (Tern Hill) Ltd has appealed against Stratford-on-Avon District Council's objection to a planning application to build 56 new living/work units at the former brickworks at Napton-on-the Hill, along with improvements to the access, canal side, landscaping and footpaths.
The District Council has objected to the planning application on grounds that the proposed development conflicts with two policies, including the Local Plan Revised Deposit Draft, that the nature of the scheme would harm the strategic and sustainable objectives of the adopted Warwickshire Structure Plan and would harm the impact on the rural landscape.
The District Council also believes there is no evidence that the proposals would meet an identified local need, and that satisfactory provision has not been made for affordable housing, education, library and public transport facilities.
The inquiry, expected to last for four days, will be held at the district council offices at Elizabeth House, Church Street, Stratford-upon-Avon, starting at 10.00am. A government planning inspector will preside over the inquiry.
Members of the public may attend the inquiry and express their views - at the discretion of the inspector.
