Stratford-on-Avon District Council will be introducing a new system for dealing with council tax, business rates and benefits later this summer. The new system will bring greater choice to people and businesses within the District as to how the council pays them.
Rather than sending out cheques, as has currently been the case the new system will allow payments to be credited straight to the recipients bank account, where the account details are known.
"The new system will enable us to improve the service we offer and develop closer working ties with our neighbouring authorities," says Councillor Gillian Roache, Revenues & Housing Portfolio Holder.
"As with any new system, whilst the work involved in changing systems is taking place there may be some delays in dealing with enquiries, although every effort is being taken to minimise disruption."
