Safety work on a number of trees on The Tramway, Stratford-upon-Avon is due to start next week, which will mean the whole area being closed off from Monday 27th February to Wednesday 8th March.  However the area will be reopened to the public over the weekend of 4th and 5th March.

The work includes the removal of dead and dying trees and also includes the reduction of several trees.  Stratford-on-Avon District Council carried out inspections on all the trees on The Tramway, the results of which showed that if left the trees could pose problems in the future.

The work on the trees is being carried out by County Council Forestry Officers on behalf of Stratford-on-Avon District Council as a safety precaution to reduce the risk to users of The Tramway and to continue the advantages that mature trees give to the site.  It is hoped that this work will enable these trees to be retained for the benefit of the users of this area.

The District Council apologises in advance for any inconvenience the works may cause.
