Three candidates contested the seat at the Alcester ward for Stratford-on-Avon District Council on Thursday 24 August. The by-election follows the resignation of Clifford Meade (Lib Dem) in June.
The result is:
Susan Elizabeth Adams (Conservative) 798 votes (elected)
Karyl Arlene Rees (Liberal Democrat) 638 votes
Matthew Squire Stephens (Labour) 54 votes
The electorate for the Alcester ward is 4694.
Turnout for this election was 31.82%.
Turnout for the last contested election at Alcester was 39.16%.
The current political make-up of the District Council's 53 seats is:
Conservatives - 31
Liberal Democrats - 19 seats
Independents - 3
