Next week is Local Democracy Week, 16 - 20 October, and Stratford-on-Avon District Council has a range of activities organised to promote understanding of what the Council does and raise awareness of local democracy.
District Councillors will be visiting a variety of local schools in the District and on Friday 20 October John Maples, MP, will be going to Studley High School to take part in a Question Time Panel.
The District Council has already assisted Alcester High School & Technology College with their school council elections and on Thursday 9 November young people will make a presentation to the Avon Area Community Committee.
But undoubtedly the highlight of next week will be a speed-dating event on Wednesday 18 October starting at 4pm at the District Council offices compered by Touch FM's Daniel Bruce.
The Local Democracy Campaign aims to encourage young people to become involved in their community and the wider democratic process.
If you would like more information about any of the events please contact Paul Chapman at Stratford-on-Avon District Council on 01789 260125.
