Stratford-on-Avon District Council's Sports Development end of year review has highlighted something worth celebrating.
The work plan introduced in April 2006, set targets of increasing;
The review highlights amongst other achievements in 2006/07;
"I am thrilled with the hard work done by the Sports Development Team for increasing the take-up in physical activity across the District. It shows that sport and active recreation plays a key role in everyone's life" says Cllr Chris Williams, Executive Portfolio Holder for Community Services.
"The Council is exceeding its commitment to developing Healthier Communities, I feel certain that the results next year will show another positive growth in participation in all sports and leisure opportunities provided by the District Council together with its partners."
Stratford-on-Avon District Council has been recognised for its achievements and been awarded QUEST, the UK Quality Scheme for Sport Development. The Council was the first local authority in Warwickshire to gain this accreditation and scored 2nd highest in the West Midlands region.
