Stratford-on-Avon District Council's Executive has offered The Greig Centre in Alcester a lifeline after it told the Council it is facing financial difficulty.
The District Council has been investigating the centre's current position and looking for a way ahead with the Trustees of the centre.
"The Council has agreed to work with the Trustees of the Grieg Centre and facilitate negotiations between the Council's preferred leisure contactors SLM with a view to SLM managing the centre, if this proves viable," says Councillor Chris Williams, Community Services Portfolio Holder.
"This proposal is subject to all parties being in agreement, but the centre will not close at the current time. Without this lifeline the Trustees have said that they will be forced to close the centre."
