Stratford-on-Avon District Council is making major improvements to the way that information relating to Councillors, meetings and Democracy is being presented on the Council's website starting from 17 September 2007.
The improvement is due to the introduction of a new computer system that enhances the management of the Council's meetings.
One of the new features available to the public is the ability to sign-up, free of charge, to particular topics of areas of interest. E-mail alerts will then be sent notifying of the publication of agendas, reports and other information.
The new web-pages will continue to be developed and enhanced over the next 6 months as the phased introduction of the new computer system is implemented.
"This is an exciting development and the changes aim to improve the quality of information made available to the community and allow the people to become more engaged with the work of the Council," says Councillor Phillip Seccombe, Executive Portfolio Holder for Member Services.
