Stratford-on-Avon District Council staff raised over £2,500 in 2006-7 by paying just £1 a month to Dress Down for local charities.
This year staff have raised over £800, and hoping to raise a significant amount for another worthy cause, The Jennifer Trust, for Spinal Atrophy whose national fundraising and awareness campaign in October is kicking off its publicity at the District Council with a Dress UP Day.
Charities that have already been supported by the District Council so far this year, include: Warwickshire Wildlife Trust, British Red Cross Flood Appeal, Deafblind UK, Mencap and the World Land Trust.
The Jennifer Trust holds special significance for the Council as the charity was established in memory of "Jennifer", the daughter of one of our late Councillors - Anita Macaulay - who suffered from Spinal Muscular Atrophy. For more information, visit http://www.jtsma.org.uk
