Stratford SCAN, Senior Citizens' Action Network, meets again on Monday 1 October at 10.30am at Wesleyan Hall, Stratford-upon-Avon.
The meeting coincides with an International awareness day, which aims to promote older people in a positive light, illustrating the many ways in which older people contribute to society, the economy, to neighbours and families, and to the social stability of our communities.
This meeting will include the presentation of a letter to the Executive Portfolio Holder, Councillor Gillian Roache, regarding older people's needs at a time of flooding and the importance of older people having the support needed to maintain independent living.
There are six SCANS across Stratford District all with one aim in mind: to give older people an opportunity to voice their views and concerns regarding the quality of their lives as well as providing a supportive social network.
Meetings provide opportunity for older people to engage with agencies and organisations that provide services to older people so that older people can 'have their say' in how best these services are delivered. Stratford on Avon District Council actively supports the SCAN groups.
