Tax payers in the Stratford district are being invited to air their views on services provided by their Council next year. Stratford-on-Avon District Council is holding a public consultation meeting on Monday 14th January at the Council's headquarters.
"Council Tax is obviously of great concern to our residents. We want to make sure that District Council services, which cost about nine per cent of their bill, provide value for money and meet the needs of our taxpayers," said Cllr Les Topham, the District Council Leader.
"The aim of this consultation is to let the public have their say on where they think we should concentrate on with our spending. All members of the public are welcome, because their views are taken into account when we look at prioritising our various services, which will then give us a steer on setting the levels of Council Tax."
The meeting takes place between 7.00pm and 9.00pm on Monday 14th January at Elizabeth House, Church Street, Stratford-upon-Avon.
Information provided at the meeting will explain how the District Council's expenditure is spread across various services, how much of the Council's income comes from Council Tax, and how the remaining budget requirement is funded through Government grant, fees, etc.
