Stratford-on-Avon District Council is changing its Waste and Recycling Contract. From August 2008 additional wheeled bins will be used to collect general waste and dry recycling from your kerbside.
Some residents need assistance with moving their bags, bins and boxes under the current collection arrangements, but with a new contract the District Council is looking to re-assess and update the database of those requiring help.
Over the next few weeks the District Council will be writing to all those residents registered under the current scheme to re-affirm their need for continued assistance.
If you currently receive help with your bins and do not receive a letter by the end of June 2008 asking for confirmation that you need continued support, please contact Stratford-on-Avon District Council on 01789 267575.
If you are not currently registered, but feel you would qualify for an assisted collection, please also contact Stratford-on-Avon District Council on 01789 267575. The requirement is that there is no-one at a property able to move the bins because of age (over 75), medical grounds, or a disability.
Wheeled bins will be distributed to all houses in early summer, but will not be accepted for collection until August 2008. For more information on the changes to the waste and recycling contract and how they will effect you, please visit the Council's website at www.stratford.gov.uk
