Stratford-on-Avon District Council's mobile skate park proved a roaring success when it visited Stratford High School last Saturday 13 September.
Over 50 local skaters had the chance to rip it up, lay down grinds, tail slides and airs using the range of kit from ½ pipe, a series of ramps, driveways and fun boxes and grinding bars and fly offs.
"This skate park has been a real success and young people, just love it. The fact that it is mobile means that we can bring it as a temporary facility to different areas throughout the District and then pack up and move on. Active leisure activities are really important for young people as part of a healthy lifestyle, so it's great to have something that they enjoy using," says Councillor Chris Williams, Community Services Portfolio Holder.
The skate park is designed to provide riders of all standards from novice to experienced level. The flexibility of how the ramps can be set out and used with each other offers numerous opportunities for all skaters and boarders to challenge their skill and develop new tricks.
