Have your say at Stratford Community Forum

The next Stratford-upon-Avon Community Forum is to be held on Wednesday 18 November at Stratford-upon-Avon High School. Community Forums are interactive events enabling residents to learn about issues affecting their area, get answers to questions and influence local decision-making.

The meeting, open to anyone living in Stratford-upon-Avon and the surrounding area, will be preceded by a Safer Neighbourhoods Team one-to-one surgery from 5.30pm where local people will be able to raise issues of concern and speak confidentially to the local police team as well as town, district and county councillors.  Residents can hear the latest on policing in their local area and officers from Warwickshire Police will feed back on issues raised at earlier surgeries.

The forum will be chaired by Town Councillor Clive Thomas.  The first item will see feedback on actions agreed at the previous meeting held in August, followed by a police update and a chance to set policing priorities for the next three months.

A Question Time-style debate on Stratford-wide transport issues will then be held to allow residents to pose questions to a panel of local representatives from the Stratford Society, Stratford Voice, the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust, the Town Management Partnership, Warwickshire County Council and Stagecoach.  The discussion will help to inform the priorities for the next Local Transport Plan for 2011 onwards.

Community Forums are part of a countywide initiative involving Warwickshire County Council, District and Borough Councils, NHS Warwickshire, Warwickshire Police and Warwickshire Together partners.

There are 30 forums across Warwickshire, which bring together elected representatives across all tiers of local government - County, District and Borough and Parish, together with a range of other community representatives.
