Stratford-on-Avon District Council is again warning bikers visiting Stratford-upon-Avon to park legally.
The newly remodelled Bancroft Gardens, at the heart of Stratford-upon-Avon town, is owned by Stratford-on-Avon District Council and enjoyed by the many visitors and residents alike as a public open space. Sadly this important open space is still being blighted by the unauthorised parking of vehicles despite a Bye-Law which prevents vehicles from parking on the land.
As a result of the volume of motorcyclists trying to park on the transformed land, the District Council entered into a contract with UK Parking Control Ltd last year; through which they are able to record registration numbers of the vehicles concerned and issue them with parking charge notices through the post.
This contract has been very successful and numbers of motorcyclists parking on the land has reduced significantly. There are however a few determined motorcyclists still trying to park on the land and because of this UK Parking Control Ltd will be introducing new methods to manage the issue. This will be in addition to the system already in operation.
The cost of the parking charge notice is £70 reduced to £35 if paid within 14 days.
