As part of National Play Day, supported through the Big Lottery Fund, Stratford-on-Avon District Council will be hosting a free 'Our Place' activities event.

The Play Day 2010 campaign is 'Our Place,' which puts children at the heart of our communities, and asks everyone, young and old, to help create better places for all of us to live and play.

Everyone is welcome to come to the Recreation Ground, Swans Nest Lane in Stratford-upon-Avon on Wednesday 4th August from 10am until 3pm.

Activities include:

  • Sumo Suits
  • Mobile climbing wall
  • Mobile skating half pipe
  • Bouncy Castle
  • Giant garden games

And lots more fun and games for all the family - and it's all free!

Cllr Mike Brain, Community Services Portfolio says: "Playing freely is a natural and necessary part of childhood.  The events organised by the District Council are to celebrate children's right to play and join in the annual campaign held across the nation to highlight the importance of play.  There's fun for all the family and I hope that many take part in this worthwhile event and maybe try something new."
