Stratford-on-Avon District Council is inviting residents to a Council Open Day on Thursday 23 September at Elizabeth House, Church Street, Stratford-upon-Avon from 1pm to 8pm.

This is the perfect opportunity for residents to come into the offices and find out directly for themselves what the District Council does, see displays and demonstrations and receive free advice.

As well as District Council services, there will be an opportunity for residents to get information and advice on a range of services provided by South Warwickshire Credit Union, Act on Energy, Stratford-upon-Avon and District Citizens Advice Bureau, Christians against Poverty, the Pension Service and Voluntary Action Stratford upon Avon (VASA) .

The Open Day promises to be of interest to people of all age groups and it is hoped that residents will find time to call into the Council Offices between these times. No appointment is necessary - just drop in.

 

  • South Warwickshire Credit Union and their partner organisation Coventry & Warwickshire Co-operative Development Agency offer financial and money management services as follows: Savings accounts; Low cost loans; Free savings and loan insurance; Bill payment accounts; Budgeting advice and Basic bank accounts.
  • Act on Energy -  provide a rage of services including the following: General advice on all aspects of energy efficiency and how to reduce fuel bills; Affordable warmth; How to access grants for loft and cavity wall insulation; How to get grants to replace / repair broken heating systems; Solid wall insulation; Social tariffs; Damp and Condensation and Renewable technology.
  • Stratford-upon-Avon and District Citizens Advice Bureau - provides free, confidential advice to help people resolve their problems.  It is equipped to deal with any issue, from anyone, spanning debt, benefits and employment to housing and immigration and everything in between. It also provides help at court for people facing repossession of their homes, specialist money advice for vulnerable people in debt, and financial skills training for people who want to learn about budgeting, saving, and how to manage money.
  • Christians against Poverty - is a national debt counselling service that offers a face to face comprehensive solution to those struggling under the burden of debt. This includes budget advice, creditor liaison and personal support.
  • The Pension Service - provides a wide range of information about the State Pension, Pension Credit, Winter Fuel Payment and related benefits.
