Wellesbourne and Kineton Community Forum is changing and it needs your help.

At the next Community Forum meeting at 7pm on Thursday 2 December at Ratley Village Hall, Camp Lane, OX15 6DP you will be asked to choose a new name for your forum and elect a Chair and there is even free transport to help you get there.

Other items on the agenda include:

  • A little time, a lot of fun, a lasting difference - Volunteer for Contact the Elderly,
  • Children's Centres updates,
  • Identify your priorities for local policing and lots more.

Cllr David Close, Chairman says: "Community Forums give local residents the chance to learn about issues, take part in debates and influence local decisions.  It is important that members of the public attend the next Community Forum to help us shape future meetings as we will be looking for people to get involved and help suggest a new name for the forum!  It is an ideal opportunity for people to meet officers of the police, health, county and district to make comments and also raise any concerns."

The free transport to the meeting is courtesy of Back and 4th and is available to anyone who doesn't have access to their own transport, doesn't like to go out alone at night or maybe has mobility problems.  Spaces are limited and must be booked in advance by Friday 26 November. Please call on 01789 260133 or email stratford@warwickshire.gov.uk to arrange your pick up.

A local policing Safer Neighbourhoods Team surgery will also take place at 6.30pm, before the community forum meeting. Officers will provide feedback on the issues raised at earlier surgeries and residents will be able to hear the latest on policing in their local area.

Chris Cuthbertson, Area Sergeant for the Rural Safer Neighbourhood Team says: "Community forums are a great way to get issues addressed locally.  They give access to other agencies including the Local Policing team.  The more local representation we have, the more local issues can be addressed when raised by the community."

Community Forums are an interactive event enabling residents to learn about issues big and small affecting their area, get answers to questions and influence local decision-making. Anyone with a question about a local issue can go along and put it to officers from a range of organisations.

Community Forums are part of a countywide initiative involving Warwickshire County Council, District and Borough Councils, NHS Warwickshire, Warwickshire Police and Warwickshire Together partners.  There are 30 forums across Warwickshire, which bring together elected representatives across all tiers of local government - County, District and Borough and Parish, together with a range of other community representatives.
