Stratford-on-Avon District Council is delighted to announce the launch of a Business Support grants scheme for Southam Town Centre.

The new grants scheme is available to assist new start-ups and help improve and develop existing businesses in the designated town centre retail area.

New Small Businesses can apply for start-up funding of up to £5,000. This scheme is aimed at supporting and attracting new small businesses into Southam Town Centre and at encouraging occupation of vacant commercial premises.

Existing Businesses can apply for grants of up to £3,000 to help them improve, develop and expand to support the viability, vitality and sustainability of the Town Centre.

Funding is limited and will be offered to qualifying businesses on a first come first served basis.

Councillor Mike Brain, Portfolio Holder for Community Services says: “This is an exciting opportunity to provide crucial support for individual and independent businesses which will help them to promote their services and increase footfall. It is intended that these grants will generate increased business turnover, competitiveness, job creation and contribute to a brighter, more prosperous future for Southam as well as offering the personal touch which smaller businesses can offer."

For further information and an application form please contact Katherine Geddes, Dassett Area Co-ordinator at Stratford District Council on 01789 260102 or on katherine.geddes@stratford-dc.gov.uk

This financial support forms part of the funding secured for town centre improvements from Tesco's.
