Stratford-on-Avon District Sports Awards 2011 – Category finalists

The awards evening organised by Stratford-on-Avon District Council, hosted by the Holiday Inn Hotel and sponsored by NFU Mutual, SLM Ltd, VASA and the Stratford Herald newspaper will be taking place on Friday 14^th January 2011.

Three categories are open to the public vote this year and these are:

• Junior Sports Person
• Junior Team and
• Alternative Sport of the Year awards.

Voting closes at midnight on Sunday 9^th January.

The remaining seven categories are decided by a panel of judges and the winner will be announced at the celebration evening in January. Details of these categories and their finalists are as follows:

NFU Community Sport Award:

• Dan Smith & Tom Masterson, Warwickshire Wheelchair Basketball Academy;
• Nick Lamb, Snitterfield Cricket Club;
• Olivia Dean, West Warwickshire Pony Club and
• Stratford High School –Stratford Athletic Club School Links.

Senior Sports Person:

• Andrew Pozzi, Stratford Athletic Club and
• Angharad James, Welcombe Hills Bowling.

Senior Team:

• Stratford Avonside XI cricket Team;
• Warwickshire College Tennis Team and
• Welcombe Hills School Bowling Team.

Coach / P.E. Teacher:

• Denise Mark, Stratford Youth Netball;
• Jim Kenyon, Alcester Town Football Club;
• Mark Edwards, Stratford Town Football Club and
• Neil Supperstone, Henley Tennis Club.

VASA Volunteer / Club Administrator:

• Chris Dale, Blue & White Rope Skippers;
• David Wright, Stratford Sharks Swimming Club;
• Grace Clayton, Stratford Girls Grammar School and
• John Turner, Wellesbourne Cricket Club.

Stratford Herald Amateur Press Correspondent:

• Andy Flynn, Alcester Rugby Club;
• Corine Bishop, Tennis;
• Dave Murphy, Cricket and
• Peter Florence, Table Tennis.

Service to Sport Award:

• Alma Warburton, Stratford Netball League & Comets;
