The Census will take place on 27 March 2011 and The Office for National Statistics (ONS) are recruiting some 35,000 people to help carry it out. People can apply for a range of full and part time roles with flexible hours ranging from 15 - 37 hours a week.

Karen Boyland, area manager for Stratford-upon-Avon, said: “Working for census is a great way to earn some extra money, gain valuable work experience and help your local community. The flexible hours also means that you're able to fit it around other commitments, like childcare or another job."

ONS carries the census out every 10 years to create a snapshot of the nation.   

The 2011 Census will offer a wide range of fixed full and part-time term temporary employment opportunities across England and Wales. Capita has been contracted by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) to recruit and train over 35,000 people to carry out the 2011 Census.  It will also be managing the payroll of census field workers and providing HR advice to census managers once they have been recruited.
