Stratford-on-Avon District is due to switch over to digital in the next few weeks, so you may be left with an unwanted TV set.

Officials at Stratford-on-Avon District Council would like to remind residents in the District that there are a number of options available to allow you to dispose of your unwanted TV sets responsibly.

Firstly you can take your old TV to one of Warwickshire County Council's Household Waste and Recycling Centres in the District, including Burton Farm in Stratford, Wellesbourne, Stockton or Shipston and dispose of it in the designated area.  Please be aware that vehicle/height restrictions operate at some of our HWRCs.

Secondly the District Council provides a special bulky waste collection which you could use to dispose of your old TV. For more information on this please go to the District Council website at www.stratford.gov.uk and click on the Bulky Waste Collection item where you can book and pay for a collection on-line or phone 01789 260616.

Lastly you could also try offering them for free through online reuse community websites such as Freegle - www.freegle.org or Freecycle www.freecycle.org

It is also useful to remember that you can use any of these options to dispose of other unwanted household furniture or household electronic or electrical equipment.

There are nine transmitter groups in the Central TV region that will switch from analogue to digital TV at different times for more information please visit www.digitaluk.co.uk/or call 0845 650 50 50.
