Stratford-on-Avon District Council's Cabinet meeting on Monday 5 September will consider two key consultants' reports affecting the future of the district.

Local authorities are required to have a planning policy document called the core strategy in place, based on evidenced reports.  The specially commissioned reports relate to the future housing and employment land requirements in Stratford-on-Avon district as part of the emerging core strategy.  The Council has received a copy of the housing report and is awaiting the employment land report in the coming weeks.

Cllr Chris Saint, Leader said: “The Council has to make major decisions in relation to the level of housing and employment land required, which will impact on current and future generations.  We can only make a well informed decision by looking at both reports together. Councillors have to consider the reports carefully for a short period and will work with officers to prepare policy options.  These decisions cannot be rushed.  It is more important to take time to get these policy decisions right.  Any proposal about the levels of housing and employment land will not be possible until after the August holiday period."

Both these consultants' reports will be made public when the Cabinet agenda for 5th September is published at the end of August.
