The community of Studley is coming together on Tuesday 1 November for a celebration to mark a number of events in the village.

Studley residents and commuters have already been enjoying the art work now in place on the Barley Mow Island.  The art work reflects the history of Studley and was funded from a Section 106 Agreement*.  Planet Arts, an arts partnership, worked with local schools in Studley as well as older age groups to help create the new piece of artwork for the community.

The local community have also created a local heritage trail based on the history depicted in the art work and a Studley Calendar for 2012, showing some of the features in Studley and acknowledging the Heart of England Gold award won by Studley.

The celebration event takes place on Tuesday 1 November at 1.30pm at Studley Village Hall with members of the local community together with a number of invited guests.

Studley Ward Member & Chairman of Studley Improvement Partnership Cllr Hazel Wright says: “All these community initiatives celebrate what is good about living in Studley, today and in the past.  They are all about showing pride in Studley and pulling together as a community.  At lot of time and effort has been put into these projects by Studley residents who really care about Studley.  It's a marvellous achievement for the village."

*A Section 106 Agreement is a legal agreement between the Planning Authority and the applicant/developer and any others that may have an interest in the land.
