Public consultation has begun on Stratford-on-Avon District Council's Draft Core Strategy 2012 (which will eventually replace the District Local Plan).  This document sets out how many homes are expected to be built in various parts of the District (including Henley and Studley), as well as the amount of new employment land and where various types of development should take place over the next 20 years.  The final document will be used as the basis for future planning decisions in the District.

As part of the consultation process residents have the opportunity to come and have their say at their local Community Forum; residents in Henley and Studley and the surrounding areas have this opportunity on Thursday 22 March at Studley Youth & Community Centre, High Street, Studley starting at 7pm.

Cllr Chris Saint, Leader of Stratford District Council says: “The Core Strategy will help inform whether the balance of need for new homes, employment provision and the scale of development has been adequately addressed and sets out the direction for development over the next 20 years.  This document will have a huge impact on the future of Stratford-on-Avon District so it is important that people give their views and help to shape the future of their area."

The consultation began in February and runs until Friday 30 March 2012.  Copies of the Draft Core Strategy 2012 are available online at www.stratford.gov.uk together with an online response form. Alternatively, CD versions and hard copies of the document can be obtained from the Policy Team, Elizabeth House, Church Street, Stratford-upon-Avon, CV37 6HX if you are unable to make the Community Forum.

As well as the District Council's new Core Strategy residents will also have the opportunity to influence police priorities for the next 3 months.  Come along, have your say, help shape the future of your community

A local policing Safer Neighbourhoods Team surgery will also take place at 6.30pm, before the community forum meeting. Officers will provide feedback on the issues raised at earlier surgeries and residents will be able to hear the latest on policing in their local area.
