Children will soon be able to have fun and keep cool when the paddling pool at the Stratford Recreation Ground reopens ready for the new summer season.

Stratford-on-Avon District Council contractors have been busy carrying out essential maintenance works to the pool structure, paving slabs and plant room equipment and they are scheduled to be completed by the end of this week in time for the reopening on Saturday 26th May 2012.

Cllr Lynda Organ Technical Services Portfolio says: “The paddling pool is a great, free facility in the beautiful surroundings of the Stratford Recreation Ground.  It's just one of the many fun facilities offered by the District Council to keep children and young people entertained throughout the summer season.  Let's hope the sun shines on us this summer"

The paddling pool will be open to the public from 11am to 6pm each weekend starting from 26th May until 20th July.

During the school summer holidays (including the June Bank Holiday and half term) the facility with be open daily and will close on the 9th September when the weather gets a little cooler and the children return to school for the new term.
