Stratford-on-Avon District Council and Public Health, NHS Warwickshire has jointly contributed £10,000 each to create the Healthy Stratford Grant.

The Healthy Stratford Grant can be used to fund community and voluntary sector organisations, town and parish councils or schools to carry out projects to:

  • Increase the mental health and wellbeing of the local population, particularly in relation to older people and dementia or
  • Awareness raising around cancer and the risky lifestyle behaviors that contribute towards it or
  • Promote affordable warmth and support local people to access information and advice to reduce fuel poverty or
  • Support people to live independently in their own homes.

The grant is specifically aimed at community and voluntary sector organisations, town and parish councils and schools in Stratford-on-Avon District.

Using the Healthy Stratford Grant, Public Health and Stratford District Council are looking to fund projects up to the value of £5,000, but would consider applications for an increased amount providing the organisation can clearly demonstrate a compelling evidence base and a wide reach in terms of targeting vulnerable or hard to reach individuals.

Applications forms are available from Emily Smith, Health Development Manager on 01926 413774 or email: emily.smith8@nhs.net and must be completed by 5pm on Friday 15 June.
