Stratford-on-Avon District Council is looking for residents for a new consultation forum - Forty Forum, a 'virtual' consultation forum for the over 50's.

Consultation is essential as resources become limited, services need to be targeted where residents need and want them most.

Although the District Council does carry out regular consultation exercises with a Citizens' Panel, with the growing aging population in the District, it is vital that this influential group is consulted with on a regular basis.

The new consultation forum will take the form of electronic feedback in relation to changes to services, policies and procedures; review of specific service providers; comment on green and white papers; assessment of lifestyle issues and research relating to health and social care.

Councillor Maurice Howse, Business, Enterprise & Housing Portfolio says: “In general there is a great willingness amongst older residents to contribute to consultation and to 'have their say'; particularly where the issues are of specific relevance to older people and the quickest way to do this is via email communication."

For a sizeable number of older people to be consulted at any one time the District needs to recruit a minimum of forty older individuals from across the district who have, where possible, a diverse range of skills and experience.
