Stratford-on-Avon District Council is warning motorists to be alert to a car parking fine scam.

The scam involves the use of a genuine company's name (www.penaltychargenotice.co.uk) - but involves motorists receiving bogus CCTV tickets.

These bogus tickets appear to be sent from the e-mail address; cctv.enforcement@penaltychargenotice.co.uk

Motorists should be aware that:

  • Parking tickets are never issued by e-mail.
  • Parking tickets always contain details of the vehicle and the registration number and are left on the vehicle's window.
  • No Warwickshire authority uses this company and people should never divulge personal information.
