At Leamington Magistrates Court Mr Guy Jason Evans, of Field Farm, Pennyford Lane, Wootton Wawen pleaded guilty and was fined £2,000 for non-compliance of an Enforcement Notice. The Court also ordered him to pay Stratford-on-Avon District Council's costs of £3,000 following a court case this week on 13 August 2013.

Mr Evans pleaded guilty to the 'breaking up of vehicles and the storage of scrap metal tyres and old engines' in contravention of an Enforcement Notice issued by the Council in 1986.

Cllr Chris Williams, Chairman of Regulatory Committee says: “I am pleased with the court's ruling, especially for the local people living near by. This has been an on-going enforcement case for a number of years and demonstrates that planning enforcement is a very complex area and can be a long draw out and expensive process and is not something that can be resolved overnight.

“People who continue to break these rules and threaten the character of the District risk legal action and significant penalties. This case demonstrates that the District Council will not be deterred from taking action, when appropriate."

Stratford District Council officers are now continuing with the Injunction proceedings to secure compliance with the original Enforcement Notice issued in 1986 and to remove any other unauthorised activities on site.
