Have you ever thought about learning to play short mat bowls?

Well Stratford-on-Avon District Council together with CSW Sport and The Bowling Alliance is organising a free short mat bowls 'learn to play session' on Tuesday 24 September at Stratford Leisure & Visitor Centre.

You can drop in anytime between 10am and 2pm at the Sports Hall to learn all about the game and receive coaching advice and tips. No equipment is required. We will provide the bowls for you to use.

Short mat bowls is an indoor sport, normally played in a village or a sports hall, which means it, can be played all year regardless of the weather.

The objective of the game is for players to gain as many shots as possible by getting their bowls nearer to the jack than their opponents and so outscore them.

Short mat bowls is a modern day variation on lawn bowls.
