Stratford-upon-Avon's Senior Citizen's Action Network (SCAN) have joined together with Morrisons Supermarket in Stratford-upon-Avon to provide 50 mini food hampers to local older people in Stratford-on-Avon District this Christmas.

The Stratford SCAN Group are using money from a 'Christmas Cheers' grant and Morrisons have generously provided a number of food items at a reduced rate and have helped pack and wrap the hampers.

The 50 mini hampers will be distributed to older people who, due to a variety of reasons, find themselves in circumstances where they may be isolated over the Christmas period, or may have limited funds to buy seasonal treats.

Stratford-upon-Avon's Citizen's Advice Bureau's 'Reach Out' project will help to distribute the hampers to ensure they reach those who will most benefit from this gift and hope that this will spread some 'Christmas Cheer' a little further this year.
