Stratford-upon-Avon Market wins award

Stratford-upon-Avon Market run on behalf of Stratford District and Town Council by Geraud (UK) Ltd, working in partnership with LSD Promotions Ltd, have won the prestigious NABMA Market of the Year Award for the Best Private Market Category.

Judging took place in January and this year's Market of the Year competition was the most keenly contested event in the history of the competition. Entries were received from across the UK with a staggering number of votes in the Britain's Favourite Market category.

Cllr Maurice Howse, Enterprise, Housing & Revenues Portfolio says: “The town markets are an integral part of our community and heritage and Stratford-upon-Avon has had a Charter Market for hundreds years.  The District Council together with the Town Council are committed to ensuring that there is excellent market provision for the town and winning this award proves just that."

The award includes the weekly markets on Rother Street – these include the general market on Fridays and the Craft/Antique (2, 4 & 5^th Saturday of month) and Farmers / Craft (held on 1^st and 3^rd Saturday of the month), and Waterside/Henley Street with more speciality markets.
