Stratford-on-Avon District Council is about to carry out further public consultation on specific Planning Policy documents connected to its Core Strategy.

The consultation runs for 6 weeks from Thursday 21 August 2014 to 5pm on Thursday 2 October 2014.

The consultation will seek views in relation to:

  • The intention to prepare a Site Allocations Plan to accompany the Core Strategy – the consultation seeks feedback on the scope of this new Plan for the location of new development and includes a fresh 'call for sites' that may be considered suitable.
  • Community Infrastructure Levy – Draft Charging Schedule – the consultation seeks comments on the proposed charges and the type of infrastructure projects to be funded via CIL.

Councillor Chris Saint, Leader of Stratford-on-Avon District Council says: “The main focus of the Site Allocations Plan is likely to be the identification of smaller scale sites across the District to help meet the housing numbers set out in the Core Strategy.  One benefit of identifying sites in the plan is that it will be drawn up with direct input from local communities, giving them more certainty that development will come forward on sites they prefer.  We aim to assist those communities undertaking Neighbourhood Plans.

“The Community Infrastructure Levy sets out the charge that developers will have to pay towards funding necessary local infrastructure."

Comments can be made electronically via the consultation document itself.  Alternatively, they can be made on the Comment Form and returned via email to planning.policy@stratford-dc.gov.uk or via post to: FREEPOST RSLH – ZYKJ – TYAZ, Stratford on Avon DC, PO BOX 5341, Stratford upon Avon, CV37 1LE.
