The public inquiry that started last April, following an appeal by Mr Craig Vinson for the use of land at Briar Close Nursery at Moreton-in-the-Marsh for one gypsy pitch will resume next week on Tuesday 23 September at West Oxfordshire District Council, Woodgreen Office, New Yatt Road, Witney, OX28 1NB.

The appeal relates to a planning application for the use of land for the positioning of caravans for residential purposes for 1 gypsy pitch together with the formation of additional hardstanding and utility/dayroom ancillary refused under application 13/00423/FUL.

Stratford-on-Avon District Council / West Oxfordshire District Council have refused the application on the following grounds:

  • Adverse landscape impact
  • Isolated and unsustainable location
  • Lack of a noise impact assessment

The inquiry is expected to last a further 3 days and the same Government Planning Inspector will preside over the inquiry.

Members of the public may attend the inquiry and express their view – at the discretion of the inspector.
